Photography
There isn't much landscape in this part of the country: no mountains, no beaches, no towering forest. The cities' oldest neighborhoods are neither scenic nor quaint. Instead there are mostly shopping malls, suburbs, highways, and empty businesses. It is the industrial tundra of the Americas. It's exotic.
These pictures are all multiple exposures composited in a variety of ways. Some are panoramic, some are very vague. The site's logo is inspired by how the images are created.
Special gallery: photos from the 2003 and 2004 North American International Auto Show. The Detroit Auto Show for short.
This gallery is in four-ish sections. My panoramas emphasize changes in point of view and changes over time. The Abstracts are images composited from over a hundred photos each, homogenizing into a simplified set of forms and colors. The Spots are quickly-made multiple exposures with brighter colors and strong contrasts. There's also an occasionally changing theme collection, currently about the Detroit Auto Shows. For more information, the faq was last updated 3 June 2004 and contains general information about the photos.
