About Art Delano

I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have been involved in various aspects of commercial website design and development for over ten years. Currently I do little design and concentrate on technical issues. I write standards-compliant HTML and CSS, dabble in Javascript, create server-side applets in PHP and MySQL, and have put these talents to work on intranet and internet sites alike. There may be a real bio here some day, but until that goes up, prospective clients and employers can review my resume, available in several formats.

If none of that is satisfying, feel free to contact me.

About this website

I got tired of being fancy so the site's design is stripped of decoration. There are no image files in the site design. The multicolumn format is basic blockstacking using HTML div tags and CSS. It should work uniformly well on all graphical browsers at widths of about 770 pixels and wider. The content is still perfectly readable at window widths down to 400 pixels wide, but the images don't scale and will force some columns off the window.

There should be little problem navigating this site on nongraphical and spoken-word browsers, even though the stylesheets have not been finished for those user agents yet. Since most of the site is about images, nongraphical browsers may be of limited use outside this section.

There are still a couple bugs in the PHP script. The most garish problem is going to be the breadcrumb trail at the bottom of many subpages, because I changed my mind about structuring the site after writing the breadcrumb function. Since it's useful for the photo pages, I'm leaving it in even though looks awkward where it breaks.
