All Whole Earth Catalogs, Supplements, Reviews, and Co-Evolution Quarterlies, online and free to browse. The interface is expensive, elaborate and awful. The user can only browse through a Cover Flow-style interface and use a tiny, inflexible viewport to try reading one of these massive broadsheet-sized books. Everything’s in Flash. Expect to make heavy use of zoom in/out and put up with spontaneously scrolling text before you give up in disbelief. This could have been so much better than it is. Reading it shouldn’t be harder than reading the originals. The WEC and WER were invaluable influences on my life and, now that they’re online, I still can’t show anybody why I found them important and conceptually beautiful. This almost makes me cry.
